What is FreeFrameWork? |

FreeFrameWork is an open-source free set of tools which is intended to
help WebSpeed developers in the following ways:
Phase 1: (Current release)
- Provide enhanced robustness
- Close security holes
- Make the development environment more productive
- Allow for easier troubleshooting of WebSpeed problems.
Phase 2:
- Provide a set of coding standards
- Provide application security and context management framework
- Provide a set of easily customizable templates for building the most common types of real-life webobjects.
- Provide code snippets for various 4gl and JavaScript tasks.

What are the features of FreeFrameWork |

Here's a short list of some of the features
- Easy configuration of broker using .ini file for propath, databases, etc.
- Proactive database connection checking with automatic failure notifications by email.
- "White-Screen-Of-Death" replaced by a customizable error page.
- Enhanced error logging.
- Ability to troubleshoot runaway agents through runlogging.
- Ability to run periodic batch cleanup processes
- Will only run webobjects from paths that you specify
- COMPILE-ON-THE-FLY HTML!!!
- IP based permissions on certain webobjects
- Anti-Denial-of-Service feature allows WebSpeed to ignore some troublesome IPs.
- Warns you about possible security problems with your configuration
- Can redirect errant requests, or requests for old objects, or object which have changed names or locations.
- More user-friendly workshop interface.

What versions and platforms are supported by FreeFrameWork? |

FFW Version 1.039 works with WebSpeed 3.x on any platform that WebSpeed will run on.

How do I install FreeFramework? |

Installation instructions are in the documentation section of this website. In general,
installation just involved copying in a few files, and customizing a .ini file for each of
your WebSpeed brokers.

By making this an open-source project for the WebSpeed community at large, we hope to make WebSpeed a
more appealing option for web development. Standardization helps us all to be more efficient at
building applications.

FreeFramework is seeking developers who have something to add. See our
Submissions page for more details. We also need people
to download and test both the official FreeFrameWork releases and unreviewed code.
