The following matters were discussed:

  • Through some slip-up at Fleet bank, FFW has been denied credit. The EIN was wrong.
  • Minutes of the 2/12/02 meeting were approved by unanamous vote.
  • Reviewed Southwell's submitted browse methodology. It was decided to let Lichtenberg work up an example using DataPump.
  • Reviewed and accepted Bob Mirro's streamfile.p into the official release of FFW. We'll place it into the ffw/procs directory where similar things reside.
  • Reviewed and accepted Southwell's pronounceable password generator into the official release. It is currently English-centric, but could be of value to others with some translation. We will seek input from the community on ways to internationalize.
  • Reviewed Southwell's Cuecat translator. It was decided that although this would be a good general 4gl utility, it really falls outside the scope of our charter. Submission for POSSE is recommended, but we'll keep it in the "miscellaneous" section of the FFW site.
  • It was decided to investigate the best way of having a download page that not only lists official FFW releases, but also downloadable sub-components which have been reviewed and accepted. Accepted code should be removed from the "Miscellaneous" page.
  • Briefly discussed Jason Howells' xloader program, which is 4gl-based FTP to retrieve and load XML documents. General consensus was that we should all look at it more, and that it would be useful as a module if it could be stripped down to its FTP component. Discussion was tabled until the members have had a chance to look it over more.
  • Digre's Plus Pack has already been approved and accepted into FFW release. It needs to be removed from the miscellaneous page, and we need to get the latest version from POSSE and incorporate the changes back in to FFW.
  • Lichtenberg was encouraged to submit the latest version of HTML-based DataPump to FFW
  • Crawford floated the idea of dividing up into several committees to focus in on reviewing the backlog of code submissions, as well as future directions and coding. Discussion of this was tabled and we adjourned.
